It's no secret that Nike has had many bizarre ad campaigns throughout the years. Ranging from Spike Lee's skits as Mars Blackmon, Lebron facing several trials on the journey towards achieving career greatness (see Denn's great video breaking this down here) and even a game of football in a DOOM-like hellscape, their visual creativity is renowned for its out of the box and coy approach to wordplay and hyperbole.

More common in recent months have been pairs themed around legacy Nike advertising; examples including the Skyline Jordan 1 Highs and the "Look, Up in the Air" Jordan 2 Lows reference classic Jordan brand imagery and typesetting. However, pairs referencing the ad back-catalogue are far from a new trend for Nike. 

In the scheme of Nike advertising, then, the "Supreme Court" campaign comes in at a relatively slower pace and lower key than the rest. Consisting of recurring imagery, the wordplay is made abundantly clear. Whilst a relatively obscure poster from the 80s, it seems Nike views it fondly enough to commemorate the material by way of a themed Dunk Low, back in 2004.

Coming in a "St Johns"-esque colourway, the pair packs navy and university blue details on a varsity red backdrop. An embroidered "SC" representing the Supreme Court adorns the heel, with the pair having both white and navy laces included as standard.
